The recently founded American Solar Energy Institute (ASEI), a
non-profit organization, will hold its first hands-on Photovoltaic
Design & Installation Workshop
August 20, 21, 22, 28 & 29
Marlene Brown and Randy Sadewic, photovoltaic experts and highly
qualified instructors, will teach this Photovoltaic Design &
Installation course.
The course has both hands-on and classroom components. Hands-on course
components will use ASEI's roof simulator.
Marlene holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering with 15 plus years of
experience in the installation of hundreds of PV solar energy systems
throughout the US and the developing world. Randy is a graduate of the
San Juan College PV Program and the co-owner of Positive Energy, Inc.
Randy is certified by the North America Board of Certified Energy
Practitioners (NABCEP).
Course topics to be covered include:
-Photovoltaic components
-Designing and sizing a system
-Siting
-The configuration of stand alone or off grid systems as well as
grid-tied or utility connected systems
-Safety, energy efficiency, & the benefits of co-op PV systems
Attendees will receive a certification upon satisfactory completion of
the course.
