*CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE PASSES CLIMATE ACTION PLAN*
Albuquerque's City Council recently voted unanimously to pass its City
Climate Action Plan.
The purpose of the Climate Action Task Force was to “design strategies
to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2050.”
Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez appointed a group of more than 60
volunteers from all walks of life to create a City Climate Action Task
Force. The Task Force worked together for many months to identify goals
for reducing local green house gas emissions in Albuquerque, met and
reviewed information by peer groups, and conducted ten town hall
meetings throughout Albuquerque to get feedback from city residents
before finalizing the the City's plan.
For other details regarding Albuquerque's Climate Action Plan, visit the
City's website: http://www.cabq.gov/cap & check out this blog by Clearly
