*NOV 19-21: SUCCESSFUL SOLAR BUSINESSES WORKSHOP*
3-Day Class (Thur-Fri-Sat)
Cost: $350.00 per person; NMSEA members - $335
For the first time, NMSEA is presenting the class that has been taught
at Solar Energy International for a decade at least. This will be a
great class, particularly for those who are not sure whether they are
ready to go into business for themselves. Chuck covers solar career
choices, licenses and certificates, taxes, accounting, tools, inventory,
advertising and so on.
The class is currently scheduled for the end of October, but we're
trying to move it to not overlap with the Photovoltaic class. Stay
tuned for the new date.
The PV market is ripe for growth! If you are considering launching a
business in solar, do not miss this opportunity to meet and talk to
successful solar business leaders in our state. Students will have a
chance to learn what works and what doesn't, and will walk away with the
tools to start their new business. This workshop has an emphasis on PV
installation businesses, but also will look at roles of distributors,
solar thermal business, manufacturing, and international opportunities.
The instructor is Chuck Marken of Remod Inc. Chuck is a New Mexico
licensed plumber, electrician and heating and air conditioning
contractor. He has been installing and servicing solar thermal systems
since 1979. He teaches for Solar Energy International and is the solar
thermal editor for /Home Power/ magazine.
